The Advanced Search feature helps you find parts in Catalog without having to leave the line item you're working on.
How to Access Advanced Search
The Advanced Search is available for all line items in all quotes in CPQ. To access Advanced Search, simply click on the Quoted cell for your line item.
And click on the Advanced Search tab:
Searching For Catalog Records
You can search individually by part number or manufacturer, or by both the part number and manufacturer together.
When searching by part number, a minimum of 3 characters must be specified before performing the search. When entering a search term for Manufacturer, the system will display a drop down list that contains results as the user types, from which they can select the appropriate option.
When you click on Search, the system will use your search terms to find matching records in your Catalog. Once the search is completed, the matching records will appear in a table where users can review and evaluate the results.
Part ID Links
If you need to see additional details for Advanced Search results, click on the Part ID link to open up the Item Details page for the part you're looking at:
The Item Details page for the part will open up in a new tab.
Part Intelligence Cube
Supplyframe Part Intelligence is also available to reference. Click on the Part Intelligence cube next to your MPN.
The Part Intelligence side panel will open from the right hand side of the page, where you can use the part data from the Info, XRef, and Details tabs to evaluate your Advanced Search result:
Replace & Add
When you've reviewed your search results and have found the part you're looking for, you can either Replace or Add the result to your line item.
1. Replace: Use this button to replace the part you currently have loaded in the Quoted column with your search result.
For example, if you have the following part loaded into the Quoted column of your line item.
If you replace the part with an Advanced Search result, CPQ will replace the previous part with the part you selected.
2. Add: Use this button to add the search result as an alternate to the part that is currently loaded in the Quoted column.
Adding an alternate will load the part below the original line item you're working on.
