Pricing Engine Tab

The last step in the Create New Quote process is to review the Pricing Engine rules that will be used to price the line items in your quote. These Pricing Rules are based on the Global and Customer Specific Pricing Rules you have set up in your System Settings.

If the customer account you've chosen in the Info step of the new quote creation process has
Customer Specific Pricing Rules associated with it, these rules will apply to your quote and will populate this page. However, if Customer Specific Pricing Rules do not exist for your chosen customer account, then Global Pricing Rules will be applied to your quote.

Both Customer Specific Pricing Rules and Global Pricing Rules can have "Advanced Pricing Formulas". When Customer Specific Pricing Rules are applied, the corresponding "Advanced Pricing Formulas" for this customer account will also be applied. This works the same way with Global Pricing Rules as well. "Advanced Pricing Formulas" for Global Pricing Rules will never apply when Customer Specific Pricing is being used and vice versa.

You can tell whether Customer Specific or Global Pricing Rules are being applied to your new quote by checking the blue banner under the Pricing Engine tab. CPQ will tell you which rules are being used for your list:

Note that on this page, you can add new Price Sources or remove existing ones, but you cannot edit
the "Advanced Pricing Formulas" section. However, when Pricing Rules need to be changed, Admins can click on the System Settings link in the blue banner to edit pricing rules on the System Settings page.

Once you've reviewed the Pricing Engine rules that will be applied to your quote, click on Save to upload your RFQ and conclude the Create New Quote process.
