CPQ provides you as the account administrator with the ability to configure rules that automatically assign a certain user to a task, based on predefined parameters.
How to access the Auto-Assignment Rule Page
The configuration of Auto-Assignment rules are done on the "Auto-Assignments" page. To access this page click on your profile photo in the top right of CPQ, and then click System Settings > Auto-Assignments.
Creating an Auto-Assignment Rule
To create a new Auto-Assignment Rule, click on the +Add Rule button. A pop-up appears where you may enter the following information:
- Assignment Rule Name
- Criteria (Field name, operator, and value)
- Note: Click Add if you want to add additional criteria to your assignment rule
- Assignee
- Days to complete
Click Add to create the assignment rule.
To Auto-Assign when a line has no suggested pricing, under Criteria, you can choose 'Suggested Price' for the first field and then 'Empty (One or More Breaks)' for your rule value. From there, you can select the assignee that will receive lines with no suggested pricing.
Managing Auto-Assignment Rules
You can come back to the auto-assignment rules later to make any necessary changes. Edits that you can make to the auto-assignment rules:
- Deactivating/reactivating an assignment rule: By unchecking and rechecking the Active column.
- Editing the assignment rule: Click on the pen icon to edit the parameters
- Click save when you made the changes to the assignment rules.
- Click save when you made the changes to the assignment rules.
- Deleting the assignment rule: Click on the trash bin icon to delete the selected assignment rule(s).
