As an admin, you have the ability to create custom Quote Types that can be assigned to quotes created by users of Internal Sales. These fields are configurable via the Quote Type section in System Settings.
The Quote Type table allows admins to configure the following fields:
- Quote Type - Short description of the type.
- Color - Available colors to display as part of the Quote Type label.
- Default - Identifies the Quote Type that is pre-selected and assigned to new quotes if the user does not make a selection. There can be only one type designated as "Default".
- Active - Currently, to guarantee data integrity for existing quotes, a Quote Type that is in use will not be deletable. Instead, admins must mark Quote Types as "Active" if they are available for use, or de-select the field for those that are not available for use.
- Sort Order - Allows admins to specify the order in which Quote Types will display in the Quote Type drop-down.
To create a new quote type, you can click on the New Type button and a new row will appear below the existing types. The text within this new row will show as "New Type" until the name of the type is updated. In addition to changing the name, you can choose a color for the new type, see a preview, set default statuses, and check the box "Active" to activate the quote type.
